AN OPEN LETTER TO ALL SKATERS, COACHES, OFFICIALS
Note to U.S. Figure Skating, ISU Member National Governing Bodies, Senior and Junior Level ISU Figure Skaters - Have you read Ottavio Cinquanta's 7 proposals that he has put forward to all ISU Officials? Are you aware he wants to do away with all Short Programs for all disciplines, including Synchronized Team Skating? Are you seriously going to sit on your butts and say nothing to your NGB's or publicly? If you do you will berisking the future of your sport.
I urge all current and former skaters to communicate with your NGB's and demand an end to the tyranny of incompetence displayed by the Speed Skater who leads Figure Skating while professing to know not a damn thing about the sport.
Your fans are fed up with him and the total silence displayed by all your federations and associations, the athletes who are the heart of Figure Skating. If your leaders at USFS, Skate Canada, Japan Skating Federation, Russian Skating Federation and their counterparts in China, Korea and all the others had the cajones, they would put an end to this continual nonsense.
We fans know your federations tell you to shut the hell up on these matters. That is the big problem. They want to keep their positions of influence within the International Figure Skating system. They are not really thinking about the future of the sport, they are showing no courage to do the right thing.
If the skaters of the world want to see the complete unraveling of your sport, just continue to keep your lips zipped as your leaders continue to sputter and flounder in the current ISU maze of backroom dealing and favors or money for votes. We know it's going on but no one seems to care enough to openly fight against it. This fight can be won! Sitting on the sidelines waiting for the other skater, leader, federation to be the one to light the fire is going to doom skating to a totally obscure sport.
Finally, think about this... If Cinquanta feels the need to eliminate all short programs as a cost saving measure, then honestly what is the financial state of the ISU? Has anyone ever challenged the secrecy surrounding the International Skating Union monies? How much money has been spent on developing Figure Skating? How much toward Speed Skating? With the great majority of monies coming to the ISU from Figure Skating, the majority of that from U.S. Media, just why the hell does the leader of your sport feel the need to gut figure skating competitions in half? What kind of money will continue to feed into the sport if this idiotic plan of his is allowed to be passed this coming June.

The time has come for a leader who not only knows about figure skating but cares about the sport.Thank you.
It what be wise for the "speed skating president to stck to what he understand, he certainly does not have a clue when it comes to figure Skating, it would also be wise for him to review other sports that have not only one but in some cases two or three different devisions to the sport, It is about time the the ISU had a new president that understands the secondary sport under their control. it would also be wise for figure staking to separate itself from the ISU, enough is more that enough!
